The Frying Pan

There’s something about going back to New York, that always manages to put things  in perspective. Maybe it’s the distance that gives clarification, the jam packed sidewalks or the incredible skyline- but things always manage to feel a little clearer after heading to  the city. I arrived in the city early Thursday morning, before the hustle and bustle, completely jet lagged. I stumbled around Little Italy in search of something to eat. There’s so many Italian pastry shops, it’s hard to choose.  Cupcakes count as…

Cafe Verona

I don’t know about you but after a long night on the town, there’s not much more I  enjoy the next morning then some serious good food.  We headed out to Hollywood to indulge in some recovery food at Cafe Verona. After,  we caught a play and even had a celeb spotting (in typical Hollywood fashion of course). Cafe Verona  After being up until the wee hours of the morning Saturday night, the first thing that  was necessary was coffee. And not just a cup…

Fizzy Blackberry Lemonade

Last year when I vacationing in London, me and my best friends dined at thisperfect little restaurant by Buckingham Palace. Once there, we met Donald, awonderful little Irish professor who was passing through London by way of alayover and had headed straight to the bar (I like a man with hard goals). He told us story after story of his life. He also slathered us up with the “bramble”,the most refreshing blackberry cocktail I’ve ever had, while he regaled us with hisstories. Somewhere along the…

Lemony Broccoli Rigatoni

First off, my bad for being noticeably absent these past two months. Things got super busy for a while (boy things *cough) but it looks like they’ll be calming down a bit. And on one of my first free lazy afternoons of the summer, I decided to whip up this wonderful thing of a recipe from an old cookbook of mine. And yes, there’s some people  out there who use cookbooks still. And lucky for you, the recipe is also online and can be found…

Orange County’s getting kind of cool!  The newest addition to the city of Anaheim is The Packing District- a one stop shop for all your glorious specialty food meals. Itgathers the best of local food, drinks and music all under the roof of the renovated and historic packing house. The Packing District opened just a few weeks ago and it’s still bustling and crowded with excited food-goers. There’s plenty of specialty food shops, funky seating, and interesting topiarys to stare at. Fresh flowers  Grilled Cheese…

The Umbrella Company

I’m all about trying new places things. When I read about the bar, The Umbrella Company, that opened up not too long ago, I knew I’d have to add it to the list. Located in L.A. off Melrose, it’s tucked between a row of clothes stores and other trendy restaurants. And further adding to my love of L.A. in the summer. First on the list, Romance without Pressure, which is just how I prefer my romances! Mixed with gin, passion fruit and cucumber, the cocktail…

Mini Moscow Mules

Ever since my dad had a moscow mule drink at a restaurant, he’s been dying to get his own set of the mugs. (He’s a big fan of cups, I don’t know why) So for his birthday, I thought I’d gift him his own set of the shiny, copper cups. Unfortunately, what I missed when I was buying the set were the words, “Actual size” in fine print. What arrived was the world’s tiniest set of cups. Seriously, they’re like mugs for little elves. Little…

All In Blue

I’ve got a secret. I’ve got a date tonight. But this time around, I’ve having a hard time mustering up the enthusiasm to be excited. There’s just so many ups and downs that go with the whole process, I’m not sure I can do it all over again. This newest top did help a bit for a quick confident boost. I’ll take every extra ounce I can get! Hopefully my fortune cookie necklace brings me good luck. Whatd’ya think?! Related articles Budapest Day 4-6 A…

Bottega Louie

This past weekend, I popped down to Los Angeles to check out a restaurant I’ve been dying to try forever – a downtown favorite, Bottega Louie. Upon entering, first thing one sees, is the bakery. The rows and rows of sweets had the fat girl inside me clawing to get out. I wanted itall and made a mental note to try everything. Are you drooling on your keyboard yet? I was so busy oohing and aahing over the sweets, I hardly noticed the beautiful restaurant!…

Coachella

A couple of weekends ago, a group of my friends and I, headed out to the middle ofthe desert in Indio to celebrate that glorious occasion that is Coachella. Free from wifi, laptops, and most usage of cell phones for the long weekend, wewere able to focus on some of the more important things like friends and music. In the mornings we’d grovel out of our campsites, cook a hearty breakfast and wander down to the grounds with tens of thousands of other people from…
