Fall- A Quick Update

Wow! Have these past few weeks been busy. First, my laptop hard drive manages to crash and burn and do quite the number (thankfully I use dropbox), setting me back awhole week trying to figure that sitch out. I just barely managed to get a new hard drive and fix it up myself. I felt a bit like Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and for a second I considered a life of hacking and being generally bad ass, but then remembered that actual coding is…

Fall Must Haves

Some things I’m currently in love with and lusting over this fall! I was this close toadding Chris Pratt to the list as well (because he’s beautiful and perfect) but then that might be seen as objectification and that’s no good. So here’s some items that are actually attainable 🙂 1 // Knee High Boots //  2 // Patterned Cardigans // 3 // Flash Tattoos // I’ve been seeing these everywhere and have been dying to try them out. Maybe for the next festival or…

Pumpkin Latte Milkshake

T’is the season for pumpkin flavored everything. And so close to Halloween! How the heck is Halloween only a month away? I forget how much I love fall, although in California I don’t know if you could really callit that. The weather drops by about three degrees and all of a sudden people start pullingout sweaters and cardigans. It’s definitely not like the east coast where the leaves turn allcrisp and you have to bundle up to a cozy fire (or drink lots of fireball,…

The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel

Now that’s a view I could seriously get used to! And for a whole afternoon, I basked in the sun streaming through the window at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel with a view of the big, blue Pacific ocean, wondering how I got so lucky with this life. At $50 bucks a person, the afternoon tea at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel certainly isn’t on the cheaper end, but you’re paying for the experience of it all. It is, after all, a day at the Ritz, with…

Faith & Flower

The Faith & Flower in downtown L.A., is one of those gorgeous restaurants that’s as easy to take in as the food. And in always in need of a refreshing cocktail and a delicious lunch, I headed out for the day. What time is it? Cocktail hour! I can’t tell you how long I’ve been waiting to use that. We were promptly seated and sat down in a beautiful rounded booth that felt a bit Gatsby-ish, but with a sexy modern twist. f The decor…

Bacon Mango Guacamole

It’s my strong belief that bacon should be added to most things. Bloody mary’s, salads, sandwiches, really anything and everything with a dash of bacon just makes it thatmuch better. The inventor of bacon should really have a statue made in honor of them(and made out of bacon, perhaps? Can someone do this please?).On a lazy Saturday afternoon, I whipped together a few things lying around the kitchen for some seriously delicious bacon mango guacamole. Here we go!Bacon Mango GuacamoleIngredients:2 Ripe avocadosRoughly 1/3 of a mango1/3 red onion, choppedJuice…

Crystal Cove

There’s something about being at the the ocean, that makes one feel like anything ispossible. For a few hours, your biggest concerns are limited to sand, sun, and salt. And for the most part, things are ok. After yet another failed fling, an overnightstay at Crystal Cove cottages does the soul wonders. I’d reserved the Crystal Cove cottages about six months earlier (they go fast), so  I’d pretty much forgotten about the reservation completely until just this past week. Me and a few friends quickly packed…

Scarpetta- Las Vegas

We arrived in Las Vegas late Friday afternoon after hours cooped up in the car,  jamming to tunes and driving through the dusty, arid desert.  We quickly got dolled up and headed to Scarpetta, an Italian restaurant in the  Cosmo hotel. I think we were all a bit car lagged and had munched on too many car snacks because we sat all sat there a bit fazed, enamored with the restaurant  and its’ wonderful ombre hues. It was all very sexy- like a restaurant you’d…

Del Mar Races

As Lady Sybil knows, a day at the Del Mar Races requires one to put their best foot (or paw)forward, in preparation for the long day. Which is why it was absolutely necessary that she wear the newest apparel-the bow tie.Because bow tie’s are cool. It’s all about looking preppy and fresh, but also comfortable. I think she manages thebalance quite nicely. As stylish as she may be, no pups allowed at the track so Lady Sybil had to sit thisone out. But me and…

East Coast Wedding

My last full day in New York City, I trekked it out to New Jersey for a good friend’s wedding. Instead of trying on dozens of dresses, of which I’d probably never wear again, I  decided to try out Rent the Runway, and with much success! The dress was a perfect  choice and the whole process was super easy.  Here’s a few snaps from the day. Everything was so lovely, sweet and romantic and  really made me look at getting married in a refreshing way.…
