Crossing the Brooklyn Bridge

Having lived in New York for five years, I feel like there’s not a lot I haven’t done tourist-wise. But that’s how New York always surprises me. Even after so many years of living there and visiting, there’s still new sites and places to explore. So I was wrong, but in a great way. I tried to find an activity that all three of us siblings could do and haven’t done before, so we settled on crossing the Brooklyn Bridge and checking out D.U.M.B.O. But not…

Beauty and Essex

To begin with, sorry I’m crazy behind and slow this month! This past month has been quite the whirlwind between trips, work and moving out. But definitely a good kind of crazy. And now that I’m mostly settled in, I can get back to the important stuff like blogging. And back to where we left off on the latest adventure at the Beauty and Essex on the Lower East Side of New York. While me and my younger brother Connor, had flown in to NYC. My older…

Birerria at Eataly

Ok so I’m cheating just a bit. This isn’t just our visit to Birerria at Eataly. It’s everything me and my brother did the first day we got in to New York but I couldn’t figure out how to pack it all in and organize it all just so! Me and my younger brother took the redeye out of Los Angeles in to New York to meet up with old friends and my older brother Dan, who had come up from D.C. for the weekend. Me and…

Apartment Lust

So even though there’s a high chance most of my apartment will be furnished with hand-me downs and craigslist finds, I still have to dream about, what it may be like to furnish it if I had unlimited funds. Which is why this is called Apartment “Lust” and not, “Apartment Things I’m Getting Right Now, Because Who Cares About Things Like Eating”. I’ve been doing my fair share of Pinterest browsing and apartment site browsing and have come up with this quick list of this things I’m…

Hiking in Anza Borrego Desert

Where we’re going we don’t need roads! I think words truly fail me to describe this weekend and everything I saw and experienced. I’ve never been one for camping but, when some friends suggested hiking in Anza Borrego Desert, I can’t say I jumped at the idea. The human civilization hasn’t perfected the inside of houses and buildings just to go back outside and experience it, or so I thought. And to be honest, my natural habitat is more of the netflix, pajama setting sort of thing. But I…

Hiking Trail to Hollywood Sign

Follow my blog with Bloglovin Undoubtedly, the Hollywood Sign Hike was probably one of the most difficult hikes I’ve ever done. And I feel like I’ve done my fair share of hiking, which is saying something! Ok- in reality, it probably wasn’t that bad, but my friends and I sure got our workout for the day. My friend and her boyfriend were in town visiting for the weekend, from New York. We set our sight’s on an adventure, her being somewhat of a tourist to Los…

Rose Bowl Flea Market

So a bit of exciting news- I’m moving out! After living at home for the past year and a half or so, I’m finally making the jump back to the real world and moving out. Although, my roommate and I have already planned our living room to be one giant fort, so can’t be so sure about that adult thing 😉 How old is too old to be making forts and drinking wine for dinner? In desperate need of some furnishings for the new place,…

Sequoia’s

The Sequoia National Park was kind of magical. Five hours away from much of civilization, tucked on the mountain top are forests with trees as tall as skyscrapers. Even the drive is beautiful, with winding routes and lumbering trees and the air getting more crisp and fresh the higher you go up. We settled in to our room at the Wuksachi Lodge and then headed back out to explore the Sequoia trees. There was still a thin layer of snow covering the ground and the…

In the Midst of Winter

January gives me the blues. There’s no way around it. I kind of hate January. It’s likea pro-longed hangover from the holiday season but there’s not even morning after mimosas. This month has been particularly brutal and I feel more stressed than I’ve ever been in my life. And that’s including the time I spent trying to get Coachella tickets. Which is something. And this quote’s been getting me through the hours andthe days, knowing that I can push through little by little, no matter…

Spaghetti Squash

So! As part of my whole new year’s resolution thing, I made a list of somewhat ambitious or adventurous recipes I wanted to try, spaghetti squash being one of them. Also on the list was get a Victoria’s Secret body (again), save lots of money (also again) and travel to some new destinations! I’d like to think that spaghetti squash is helping that whole Victoria’s Secret body because guess what…you’re eating vegetables! It’s amazing! It’s like pasta but it’s not! It’s super healthy and actually…
