Hiking in Anza Borrego Desert

Where we’re going we don’t need roads! I think words truly fail me to describe this weekend and everything I saw and experienced. I’ve never been one for camping but, when some friends suggested hiking in Anza Borrego Desert, I can’t say I jumped at the idea. The human civilization hasn’t perfected the inside of houses and buildings just to go back outside and experience it, or so I thought. And to be honest, my natural habitat is more of the netflix, pajama setting sort of thing. But I…

Hiking Trail to Hollywood Sign

Follow my blog with Bloglovin Undoubtedly, the Hollywood Sign Hike was probably one of the most difficult hikes I’ve ever done. And I feel like I’ve done my fair share of hiking, which is saying something! Ok- in reality, it probably wasn’t that bad, but my friends and I sure got our workout for the day. My friend and her boyfriend were in town visiting for the weekend, from New York. We set our sight’s on an adventure, her being somewhat of a tourist to Los…

Rose Bowl Flea Market

So a bit of exciting news- Iโ€™m moving out! After living at home for the past year and a half or so, Iโ€™m finally making the jump back to the real world and moving out. Although, my roommate and I have already planned our living room to be one giant fort, so canโ€™t be so sure about that adult thing ๐Ÿ˜‰ How old is too old to be making forts and drinking wine for dinner? In desperate need of some furnishings for the new place,…

Sequoia’s

The Sequoia National Park was kind of magical. Five hours away from much of civilization, tucked on the mountain top are forests with trees as tall as skyscrapers. Even the drive is beautiful, with winding routes and lumbering trees and the air getting more crisp and fresh the higher you go up. We settled in to our room at the Wuksachi Lodge and then headed back out to explore the Sequoia trees. There was still a thin layer of snow covering the ground and the…

In the Midst of Winter

January gives me the blues. There’s no way around it. I kind of hate January. It’s likea pro-longed hangover from the holiday season but there’s not even morning after mimosas. This month has been particularly brutal and I feel more stressed than I’ve ever been in my life. And that’s including the time I spent trying to get Coachella tickets. Which is something. And this quote’s been getting me through the hours andthe days, knowing that I can push through little by little, no matter…

Spaghetti Squash

So! As part of my whole new year’s resolution thing, I made a list of somewhat ambitious or adventurous recipes I wanted to try, spaghetti squash being one of them. Also on the list was get a Victoria’s Secret body (again), save lots of money (also again) and travel to some new destinations! I’d like to think that spaghetti squash is helping that whole Victoria’s Secret body because guess what…you’re eating vegetables! It’s amazing! It’s like pasta but it’s not! It’s super healthy and actually…

Mallory Square

The rest of our first day in Key West with the fam, continued with us taking it easy. We dined at a local restaurant that was right on the bay and not too far from Mallory Square. I think everything looks better over the rim of a margarita glass, don’t you? ๐Ÿ˜‰ And we feasted! On pub fare but delicious nonetheless. We nibbled on lobster sliders (my fave), giant prawns and one very juicy burger. It was enough for a gal to forget all her…

Blue Heaven

A quick recap of the family trip to the Florida Keys for this winter break! I’ve been working from home this week and can’t say how nice it is to work from bed in full on pajama mode. I think this is the life meant for me. A view I could get used to! #wheresthecoconut ๐ŸŒด #travel #florida A photo posted by Kylie Ladd (@kyladd) on Dec 12, 2014 at 7:30am PST So me and the family did something we haven’t done in ages- take…

What I’ve Learned About Blogging So Far

Well, first off, it’s hard. A lot harder than it looks. And secondly, I should start this by saying, I am in NO WAY, an expert on any of this, and just because I’ve been doing it for a handful of months, this is definitely a baby beginner’s how-to-blog post. 1. Blogging is Harder Than It LooksThat photo of the perfect cake on the marble counter top with just a sprig of mint that happened to be there. The girl (who looks more like a Victoria’s…

Winter Must Haves

Wait, so for real, it’s only like two weeks before Christmas and I’ve barely gotten any Christmas shopping done, there’s still baking to be left and New Year’s resolutions to be completed. Can someone just hand me the rum-spiced eggnog already? Whelp! Here’s the latest round of things I’m currently loving or in dire need of. Hint, hint Santa. 1 // The Martian // The novel is a gripping tale of an astronaut pretty much left for dead on Mars. It’s a definite page turner. 2 // Sweater…
