Me and the boy set out for the weekend to Mount Baldy, determined to leave all our worries behind.
Lady Pup enjoyed it immensely. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her so happy! She was an excellent little trail dog and spent a lot of time chasing squirrels and sniffing around.
Meanwhile me and the boy were discussing the negatives and positives of buying a fan so late in the season.
Boy: I sweat every night at your place. You need to get a fan.
Me: It’s not in the budget.
Boy: The budget? They’re only twenty bucks! How is it not in the budget?
Me: Well, what I mean by it’s not in the budget, is that, I don’t want to buy a fan.
Boy: In the months that we spent discussing whether or not you should’ve gotten a fan, you could’ve literally gotten a fan.
Me: But by the time I get it, it’ll be fall, and then I’ll have no need it! And then I’ll just be stuck with a fan that I don’t want and have no need for until the next summer!
To sum up- I bought a fan. Relationships are all about compromise you see.
We just barely made it to the top of the summer and were hit with a bit of rain which actually felt pretty refreshing after hiking for so long.
Thinking deep things here- like what to eat for lunch.
By the end of it we were both thoroughly exhausted! But already planning our next camping trip. Any ideas?!
