Santa Monica Day Trip

Santa Monica Day Trip

So when me and the boy heard about everyone’s Memorial Weekend plans, we
grew a little envious.
Friends were going wine tasting in Napa and beer tastings in Pismo Beach. Another
couple was headed to the Hamptons for the long weekend. And we had effectively
planned absolutely nothing. But determined to not waste a perfectly good long
weekend, we planned a quick-mini staycation and set our sights on Los Angeles!
The boy’s not native to California so it gave us both an excuse to be a tourist for the

pics so you’ll just have to imagine it yourself!
The cocktails are all made fresh and have a different twist on them.

We spent a few hours talking at the bar, in awe of our surroundings, feeling
like we’d been truly transported back in time.

We were almost ready to head back but our stomachs had other plans in mind.

The boy also has never had real ramen (so many firsts!) so we headed to a local,
hole in the wall place at 1am and it didn’t disappoint.

We sat down, ordered and the waitress at Fukurou Ramen was quick to bring out
everything which we gobbled down just as quickly.

Finally, full of ramen and pretty exhausted, we headed back, satisfied with the days’
