Spiked Strawberry Lemonade

When life gives you lemonade, make some lemonade and add vodka. Or lots of vodka
(which is maybe what I might’ve
done). I know it’s not quite summer yet but I’m gearing up for it already! Which means
daydreaming about beach days and spending way too much time on Pinterest looking
for bathing suits.  So here’s a quick, little recipe for when the summer season comes,
 adapted from MyBakingAddiction.

In the backyard, hanging over the fence is a perfect little lemon tree and all those
lemons
are about ready to fall off! It’d be criminal to not take advantage of the situation.

Here’s your cast of characters:
Serving size, 1 large pitcher

1 3/4 cups sugar
1 cup of water
1 pint of strawberries
1 cup fresh lemon juice
5 cups cold water
1 cup pineapple banana orange juice (not pictured)
3 cups vodka

1. Combine the sugar with 1 cup of water in a saucepan. Place over medium heat and heat
until the sugar in completely dissolved. Stir the pan’s content occasionally. Let cool.
2. Move on to your strawberries and throw those suckers in to a blender with about 1/2 cup
of water. Puree together.

3. Juice your lemons so you have about a cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice.

 4. In a large pitcher, combine your strawberry puree, sugar water and lemon
juice. Also
add your vodka (3 cups may seem like a lot, but the puree masks it pretty well. If you want to
do less, do less. If you want to do more, it’s your party) and the pineapple banana orange juice.
Stir together .
5. Add about 5 cups of cold water. Stir all the ingredients for about a minute.

5. Serve over ice and sip away the summer day in a warm buzz.

Drink up!
